He is currently a teacher of the famous Nacho Duato repertoire. He is also a visiting professor of International level and has taught numerous choreography workshops.
Fabrice Edelmann is born in Geneva, Switzerland. He graduated at the École de Danse de Genève under the direction of Beatriz Consuelo, where he got a full formation in classical and contemporary techniques. He quickly joins the young company of the school Le Ballet Junior of the same director, where he acquired professional experience in dancing plays from Ivonice Satie, Iracity Cardoso, Beatriz Consuelo, Frederic Gafner or Myriam Naisy.
In 1994 he joined the Hagen Ballet of Richard Wherlock, who he would be working with for many years as a soloist, following him to the Luzerner Ballet (CH), the Komische Oper Berlin (D) and finally the Ballet Basel (CH). He danced in leading roles in choreographies from Ed Wube, Orjan Anderson, Nils Christie, Myriam Naisy, Itzik Galili and Richard Wherlock.
In 2002 he joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza under Nacho Duato’s direction, widening his experience with works of worldwide renowned choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Wim Vandekeybus, Yoko Taira, Gentian Doda and Nacho Duato. In the season 2008 he became the rehearsal director of the Compañía Nacional de Danza 2, which he would be directing until 2010.
At the moment he’s working as an international guest teacher, giving chorographical workshops of Duato’s repertoire, and combining it with dancing projects. Besides his work as a coach and dancer, he is involved in different production projects, such as the International Gala Somos Arte in Valencia.
