Joakim Stephenson

Joakim Stephenson is a former Swedish soloist of the Royal Swedish Ballet, now focusing on choreographing and teaching for various contexts worldwide.

After dancing with Ballet Monte Carlo and guesting with the Hong Kong Ballet, he is now a freelance choreographer and teacher with a base at Balettakademien. He has staged Alexander Ekman’s works for various companies like Joffrey Ballet and Stanislavsky Ballet since 2014. Joakim has been a guest ballet master at Cincinnati Ballet, Istanbul State Ballet, Estonian National Ballet, and Vanemuine Ballet. His choreographic work includes pieces for Kulturhuset in Stockholm, the Royal Swedish Opera, the dramatic theatre, and several ballet schools.

As well as Loreen's performance "Statements" in the Eurovision contest and singer Victor Leksell’s tour 2022/2024. Joakim’s dance films, such as Soulman, SAND, and Onapers, have been featured at film festivals and broadcast on Swedish television.
